Wildlife in Oklahoma belongs to the people of Oklahoma even though 95 percent of Oklahoma is privately-owned. The future of wildlife does not just depend on wildlife managers. It depends on hunter, trappers, wildlife enthusiasts and landowners.
The Wildlife Department recognizes the importance of landowner involvement in successful habitat and wildlife management -- and it has a number of private lands assistance programs to prove it. Wildlife Division, Fisheries Division and the Wildlife Diversity Program all offer various kinds of assistance.
