Working Lands for Wildlife - Kansas

Working Lands for Wildlife is a partnership between NRCS and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) to use agency technical expertise combined with financial assistance from the NRCS Lesser Prairie Chicken Initiative to combat the decline of specific wildlife species whose decline can be reversed and will benefit other species with similar habitat needs. In Kansas, the targeted species is the Lesser Prairie-Chicken.

Lesser Prairie-Chicken Initiative Information from Previous Years

The Lesser Prairie-Chicken Initiative (LPCI) was first funded as a national initiative in fiscal year 2010 under the Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP). Working Lands for Wildlife was established in fiscal year 2012.
